Flashy, eye catching, rare to find big 16.1 ISH X COB Gelding.

Sad sale on behalf of owner due to owner personal circumstances.

Originally from Ireland where he was brought over to hunt.

Has hunted many seasons with the Newforest fox hounds, where he behaved impeccably and jumped everything asked of him.

He has successfully showjumped, jumping British Novices on a ticket.
He has done plenty of hacking, which he really enjoys.Used to seeing bikes and dogs on the south downs and nothing fazed him. He will hack alone or in company.

He has done lots of pole clinics with his current owner. He is a horse that really thrives off his work, and loves his job.

He is a very sweet natured horse, who would bond well with a 1 to 1 home. He is good to shoe, box, clip etc.

Bertie is a big flashy horse, with big movement. He would not suit a novice as he is sensitive although safely forward off your leg. He would do fantastically in the show ring, as he has a lot of presence or equally a top class allrounder or Hunter

New job which is demanding and often means owner away at weekends forces sale as he benefits from being in work 5 days a week which she just can’t give him. Has been treated for ulcers (grade 2) in Feb 2022. full medical records can be provided and price reflects this. Sailed through a five stage vetting in July 2021. Home more important than price as he really is a lovely chap who always tries his hardest and is very quick to learn.

Essentially he needs a confident, quiet rider who can work him regularly to bring the best out of him.
